TAMPA, Fla. – FC Montreal forward Charles Joly has been voted the USL Player of the Week for the 18th week of the 2015 season after he recorded a hat trick in Montreal’s 5-2 victory against Saint Louis FC last Wednesday evening.
Joly earned 87 percent of the vote, which was conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL market.
USL Team of the Week
GK – Odisnel Cooper, Charleston Battery: In his return from injury, recorded five saves to post his third shutout of the season in a 1-0 win vs. Wilmington
D – Josh Suggs, Orange County Blues FC: Pushed up the flank well, and was solid as the 10-man Blues held on for a 1-1 draw with LA
D – Damion Lowe, Seattle Sounders FC 2: The key player in S2’s defense as it helped the side earn a point on the road against Colorado Springs
D – Janouk Charbonneau, FC Montreal: Was solid defensively, and joined the attack well to provide important passes on a pair of Joly’s goals vs. Saint Louis
D – Nick Bibbs, Saint Louis FC: Played a solid game defensively, and delivered the cross that resulted in the only goal in STL FC’s win against Toronto
M – Leo Stolz, New York Red Bulls II: Began a number of attacking forays for NYRB II, and was rewarded with the winning goal on the road in Harrisburg
M – Jarad van Schaik, Charleston Battery: Excellent performance in the center of midfield as the Battery took a 1-0 win against Wilmington
M – Santiago Biglieri, Portland Timbers 2: Recorded a pair of assists to help T2 overcome an early deficit to defeat Vancouver
F – Trevin Caesar, Austin Aztex: Scored a pair of goals, and also hit the post, in an excellent performance against Arizona United
F – Charles Joly, FC Montreal: Recorded his first professional hat trick in his second start for FC Montreal in a 5-2 win against Saint Louis
F – Kharlton Belmar, Portland Timbers 2: Scored the opening goal, and added an assist, as T2 moved back into the thick of the playoff race
