HARRISON, N.J. (July 26, 2016) - New York Red Bulls Homegrown midfielder Derrick Etienne Jr. has been added to the roster for the MLS Chipotle Homegrown Game tomorrow night. The MLS Homegrown team, coached by Landon Donovan, will take on the Mexico Under-20 National Team in San Jose as part of the MLS All-Star festivities.
The MLS Chipotle Homegrown Game is scheduled to kickoff at 9 p.m. ET Wednesday at Avaya Stadium in San Jose and will be streamed live on MLSSoccer.com.
Etienne, a native of Paterson, N.J., signed a Homegrown contract with the Red Bulls in December 2015 after one season at the University of Virginia. The wide midfielder has two goals and four assists on loan to NYRB II in the United Soccer League this season.
Etienne recorded an assist against the Argentina Under-23 National Team over the weekend while playing with the Haiti U-23s.
Etienne joins teammate Tyler Adams on the gameday roster. The Red Bulls have sent at least one representative to every Homegrown game since the inaugural match in 2014.
