Michael Amir Murillo’s first day in training with the New York Red Bulls came just hours after his signing was announced, but Head Coach Jesse Marsch thought it was a successful first day for the Panamanian.
“I thought Michael had a really good day,” Marsch said. “Training was at a much higher level today. Michael fit right in.”
“I thought he had a great day and held his own. He showed all the qualities that we thought he had.”
Marsch said he hopes Murillo’s personality starts to show as he trains with the team and becomes more comfortable in the Red Bulls system.
“We like guys that come here and are up for the challenge and want to be put in difficult situations,” Marsch said. “When we evaluated him as a person, we think he’s like that."
