Marsch & Red Bulls Preparing For Another 'Big Game'

CenturyLink Field

New York Red Bulls Head Coach Jesse Marsch is preparing his team for another "big game" as they head to Seattle for the Sounders' first home game since winning the 2016 MLS Cup.

The Sounders will be finishing out a week of celebration leading up to their home opener, capped with the banner unveiling at CenturyLink Field.

“Seattle’s always a great place to play," Marsch said. "It’ll be another big game so we’ve had four of them already, make it number five."

The Red Bulls have already played in two CONCACAF Champions League games, Atlanta United FC's MLS debut and their own home opener at Red Bull Arena.

In their last meeting, New York topped Seattle 2-0 behind a brace from Mike Grella on June 19, 2016 at home.

Seattle and New York are two of the top three teams in the league since 2014, according to SoundersFC.com. The Red Bulls have tallied 173 points since 2014, while the Sounders have 164 points over that same span. Only FC Dallas has more points since 2014 (178).

"It’ll be a challenge, but it’s exciting," Marsch said. "Our group will be ready to go.”
