Seattle Sounders center back Roman Torres has been suspended for the upcoming game against the New York Red Bulls.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee suspended him for violent conduct that occurred in their game against Montreal Impact on March 11.

Torres has played 175 minutes over two league games for the Sounders this season.

"Center back Tony Alfaro will likely slot in and play next to Chad Marshall in the middle of the back line," according to SoundersFC.com.

The defender sealed the Sounders' 2016 MLS Cup victory with a penalty kick. The Sounders will raise their banner on Sunday night before their game against New York.
