New York Red Bulls II will meet Atlanta United 2 for the first time this season.
Here are the Three Keys to the Game:
Last Couple Meetings
The last three meetings between the clubs, NYRB II has outscored Atlanta, 18-3. This includes the last meeting on July 13, 2019, where midfielder Chris Lema became the ninth player in USL Championship history to record four goals in one match. When NYRB II visited Atlanta last season, Sebastian Elney and Edgardo Rito recorded their first professional goals.
Gaining Experience
With NYRB II out of playoff contention for this season, the focus will be on these younger players to keep gaining experience. U-19 Academy player Dantouma Toure has made nine appearances this season and has recorded two goals and three assists. U-19 Academy players Daniel Edelman, Bo Cummins, Kenan Hot, Tapiwa Shumba, and Joey Zalinsky all made their professional debuts and have featured for NYRB II on more than one occasion. The experience these young academy players are gaining is important for the future. Expect them to keep gaining experience on Wednesday night.
Finish Strong
With four games left, NYRB II will look to finish the seasons strong starting with Atlanta United 2 on Wednesday night. Seven goals over the last two matches is the most gained this season. Forward Jake Lacava recorded his third goal of the season last Wednesday, expect the goals to keep rolling.
