HARRISON, N.J (October 5, 2024) – New York Red Bulls II (10-12-5, 39 pts) travel to Finley Stadium for MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day to face Chattanooga FC (9-9-9, 43 pts) on Sunday, October 6 for the first ever matchup between the two clubs. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET with coverage of the match available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

New York currently sits in 11th place in the Eastern Conference and is coming off back-to-back home wins, most recently earning a dominant 3-1 victory over New England Revolution II on Sunday, September 29 at MSU Soccer Park. Red Bulls II had three different goal scorers on the day, with goals from frontline tandem of Mohammed Sofo and Tanner Rosborough as well as a penalty kick converted by midfielder Ibrahim Kasule.

Chattanooga currently sits in 9th place in the Eastern Conference and is coming off eight points in their last three matches, including wins against Columbus Crew 2 and Toronto FC II and a penalty shootout win over New England Revolution II. Most recently, the side had a convincing 5-1 win over Toronto FC II, including two goals from forward Taylor Gray

Despite this being the first matchup between the two clubs, there is a lot on the line. Although New York has officially been eliminated from playoff contention, a Red Bulls II win can deny Chattanooga a playoff spot.

Both sides have found success in creating team goals. Each team ranks top five in the league in total assists, with Chattanooga tied for second in the league with 38 and New York ranked tied for fifth in the league with 34.

New York’s forward duo of Sofo and Rosborough has hit their stride as of late, with both players scoring in back-to-back matches. The duo has tallied 21 goal contributions on the season.

This will be New York’s final MLS NEXT Pro match of the season.
