FOXBOROUGH, MA. (April 21, 2023) - New York Red Bulls II (1-1-2, 1 pts.) travel to Foxborough for a battle against a strong New England Revolution II (3-1-0, 9 pts.) on Friday, April 21st. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on Apple TV’s MLS Season Pass.

New York is coming in hot after defeating Huntsville City 1-0 for the club’s first victory in MLS NEXT Pro and grabbing three points. Ricardo Gorday was the lone goal scorer in the match, scoring is first professional goal in his first career start. Oladayo Thomas assisted the goal, notching his first professional assist. Goalkeeper A.J. Marcucci held down the squad, along with the great defensive performance, to maintain the first clean sheet for New York this season.

New England, on the other hand, is coming off their worst result of the young season so far, having lost to defending champions Columbus Crew 2 last Sunday by a score of 3-0. While they were blanked in that match, goal scoring has not been the issue for Revs II this season. Over their first three games, they scored ten goals, including a five-goal showing against Philadelphia Union II.

Red Bulls II have experienced every possible outcome in their first four matches this season, which includes a win, a loss, a draw with a shootout win, and a draw with a shootout loss. The results so far have left New York sitting tied for fourth in the Eastern Conference standings.

New England are sitting at the top of the conference standings with nine points, only behind Crown Legacy FC who are in first place with ten points. Former Red Bull II forward Jordan Adebayo-Smith leads the Revs with two goals on the season, as he looks to continue his form against his old club.

The II’s are on the road for the second time this season and looking for a similar result to the two points that they were able to grab in Atlanta. New England will be hosting for the third time this season and are 2-0 at Gillette Stadium with a +5 goal differential.

New signings Davi Alexandre and Juan Gutierrez look to make their first appearance for Red Bulls this season after signing MLS NEXT Pro contracts this past week.
