Fort Lauderdale, FL (July 2, 2023) - New York Red Bulls II (7-4-4, 27 pts.) head south to face Inter Miami CF II (9-2-2 19 pts.) at DRV PNK Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET and coverage is available on MLSNEXTPro.com.

New York is coming off a solid victory over FC Cincinnati 2 after putting in three first half goals. Frank Ssebufu started the scoring just 30 seconds into the match, and shortly after, Ibrahim Kasule and Davi Alexandre both found the back of the net to seal the win at MSU Soccer Park.

Miami will be headed into today’s match well-rested, with their last contest being on June 18th in a 2-0 loss against Huntsville City FC. The home side is looking to get back to winning ways, having only earned three points in a match one time in their last eight attempts.

One of the losses that Miami faced in that span was in Montclair against Red Bulls II. Forward Oladayo Thomas was the lone goal scorer of the match and A.J. Marcucci recorded his fourth clean sheet of the season in a 1-0 victory.

All eyes will be on midfielder Ibrahim Kasule for today’s match, as he will look to continue his incredible run of form over the past six matches. The 19-year-old has recorded five goals and three assists in that span, after having none in the previous seven matches. The Ugandan has recorded a goal or an assist in every contest during this stretch, including two matches where he tallied one of each.

The defensive and goalkeeping play from New York has also been its usual self, only allowing two goals over the past two weeks. Red Bulls II currently rank first in the Eastern Conference and seventh in the entire League in least goals allowed with 17. The fantastic play of A.J. Marcucci has led to New York posting the second highest save percentage in MLS NEXT Pro at 77%.

After starting the season with four matches unbeaten on the road, Red Bulls II have fallen back in their away matches. New York now holds a 2-2-3 away record, but is coming off a point in their last road matchup in Charlotte against Crown Legacy FC.
