HARRISON, N.J. (April 9, 2025) - Midfielder Ibrahim Kasule earned MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchweek 4 for his game sealing goal in the 89th minute in a 3-2 victory over Chicago Fire FC II on April 6 at MSU Soccer Park.
The Kampala, Uganda native bounced on a deflection off a New York corner kick on the top of the box bring the ball down with his chest and smashed a right footed volley into the top left corner.
Kasule has scored 23 goals through three seasons with Red Bulls II. The midfielder was named to the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Best XI and earning two MLS NEXT Pro Player of the Month in July 2023 and March 2024. He is two goals away from becoming the club’s regular season all-time leading goal scorer. Former forward Brandon Allen currently holds the record with 24 goals during his stint with the club from 2016-2017.
Kasule and company will be back in action on Sunday, April 20, as New York travel to NKU Soccer Stadium to face FC Cincinnati 2. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLSNEXTPro.com.
