New York Red Bulls Midfielder Bento Estrela was brought into Portugal’s U-16 Youth National Team camp, which started on Monday, August 16.
This is Estrela’s first call up to the Portugal U-16’s and he participated in multiple trainings at Cidade de Futebol in Alges. They played a friendly against GS Loures U-18’s, where Estrela played in the match and they won, 2-1.
“I was very excited to participate in camp with the Portugal U-16 National Team,” Estrela said. “ It was a really great experience overall and to have the opportunity was a dream come true.”
The Bloomfield, New Jersey, native signed an MLS Homegrown contract on February 9, 2021. He became the youngest New York Homegrown signing and the fourth-youngest signing overall in league history at the age of 14 years, 364 days.
