With the current 2020 MLS season on pause, the New York Red Bulls’ coaches, staff and players have no choice but to train from home. This will be a time for them to try new things, but to also stay active and ready for when everything returns to normalcy.
The Red Bulls’ no. 10, Kaku, shared with us what he has been up to in recent days:
What are you doing with the time available?
“Right now with all the time available, I’m enjoying my family. That’s the most important thing. A lot of times we’re traveling, and although I know that what’s going on with the virus isn’t good, it’s beautiful to be with your family. We try to play games, draw and just the opportunity to spend the time with them is very fun.”
What are you specifically working on?
“I think it’s a moment to work the mind, to think positive, to send encouragement to the people who aren’t going through good times. We know that there are a lot of cases, but I think things will calm down. The truth is that New York is strong and very soon we’ll be able to enjoy things again.
How are you staying safe and in shape?
“We’re training, so that’s good. We’re in good shape, doing exercise everyday because we don’t know when this situation will calm down. We’ll be ready when it’s time to get back to normalcy.”
Message to the supporters
“To everyone in New York, New Jersey, to the fans, I’m sending a lot of encouragement, all this will soon pass. I’m sending a lot of strength, hopefully all this situation will get resolved. If you’re passing through tough times, I’m sending all the strength, and that we’re here supporting you like always. We’ll soon enjoy great games. I send a big hug and a lot of strength to New York, New Jersey.”
