As a kid, I used to watch my older brother play soccer; I'd sit through his practices and never miss a game. Native to Long Island, I would wake up early for long drives when he had games out in Suffolk, camped out at tournaments, and helped out as a sideline referee. It was a full-circle moment, transitioning from spectator to player, as I eventually found myself on the pitch.
At six years old, soccer became my obsession. I played for over twelve years and honed my skills. After high school, I attended college in hopes of pursuing a career in Physical Therapy, so I put soccer to the side. The traditional route was not ideal for me; after a miserable year at University, I dropped out to find more enjoyment and a sense of purpose.
I returned to soccer and was fortunate enough to find a position with the Red Bulls Youth Programs. I am happy to be a part of the Red Bulls mission, it is quite heartening to be able to motivate and help young players develop and learn the game I love. Ironically, I have returned to college, studying Sports Management in hopes of furthering my coaching career.
Being a female soccer coach and role model is a goal that resonates deeply with me. By serving as a mentor and advocate for young female athletes, I hope to create a supportive environment where players feel valued, respected and encouraged to reach their full potential.
