The New York Red Bulls have signed forward Muhamed Keita, the team announced on Friday morning.
Keita, who was born in Gambia but represented Norway at the U-18, U-21 and U-23 levels, most recently played with Vålerenga in the Tippeligaen.
The 26-year-old started his soccer career with Drafn's youth clubs before making his first-team debut with Strømsgodset in 2008. He went on to play in 125 matches for Strømsgodset, scoring 18 goals.
Strømsgodset won the Norwegian Football Cup in 2010 with Keita. Strømsgodset won the league in 2013, where Keita had 19 appearances and three goals.
He also had 13 non-league goals with Strømsgodset.

In 2014, he joined Lech Poznań, where he went on to appear in 19 games and score two goals in league play. They won the Ekstraklasa that year. He also had three non-league goals with Lech Poznań.
Keita went on loan to Stabæk and Strømsgodset and then back to Stabæk before he was loaned to Vålerenga in 2017. Over 47 total games with those clubs, he went on to score 13 goals across all competitions.
Keita appeared nine times with Norway's U-18 team, four times with their U-21 team, scoring once, and four times with the U-23 team.
