The New York Red Bulls’ new midfielder, Frankie Amaya, arrives in New York after two seasons with FC Cincinnati.
With FC Cincy, Amaya played 43 matches and 3,157 minutes across all competitions.
In the 2020 season according to Opta, the 20-year-old midfielder won 39 tackles, registering the best numbers in that department for the club, and also completed 113 passes into the final third, which made him the second best in that department following Haris Medunjanin.
His first professional goal came against Atlanta United in the MLS is Back Tournament held in Florida.
Amaya has accrued 11 caps for the U.S. Youth National Team with 537 minutes played.
Our new midfielder recorded 10 starts with two goals and two assists at UCLA. He was named Freshman All-American, First Team All-Pac-12, and Second Team All-Far West Region and was the first UCLA freshman to earn first team all-league status since 2015.
