Hassan Ndam Selected by FC Cincinnati in MLS Expansion Draft

HARRISON, N.J. (December  11, 2018) – New York Red Bulls defender Hassan Ndam was selected in the MLS Expansion draft by FC Cincinnati on Tuesday.

Ndam, a 20-year-old Cameroonian defender, made his MLS debut against Columbus Crew SC on June 9. He also started and played the full 90 in both of New York’s U.S. Open Cup matches this season. Ndam was mainly featured for New York Red Bulls II, recording 29 games started and 2600 minutes, while leading the team in clearances (127) and aerial duels won (111).


Ndam signed via transfer with New York from Rainbow FC Bamenda on January 31, 2017. He appeared for Red Bulls II 27 times, starting all 27 matches. Ndam tallied one goal as a defender and recorded team bests in clearances (99), blocks (16) and interceptions (86).


The Red Bulls receive $50,000 in allocation money for having a player selected.
