Searching for their first regular season victory in Utah, the New York Red Bulls are running with the same Starting XI that proved victorious in Week 1.
Head Coach Chris Armas will see David Jensen start in goal for the second straight game, making his second MLS start. Kyle Duncan, Tim Parker, Amro Tarek and Patrick Seagrist start along the back line.
Duncan’s 16th minute goal on Sunday was the first goal of the game and gave New York a 1-0 lead over FC Cincinnati. Since the Red Bulls implemented their high-press system in 2015, New York improved to 70-12-16 when scoring the first goal of the match.
The Red Bulls will deploy Cristian Casseres Jr. and Sean Davis in the midfield, with Davis wearing the captain's armband. Florian Valot, Kaku, Danny Royer and Brian White will round out the players on the pitch.
Valot tallied two assists in his first game back since March 16, 2019 to raise his career total to eight. It was Valot’s first two-assist performance.
Armas will have Sean Nealis, Josh Sims, Mathias Jørgensen, Kendall McIntosh, John Tolkin, Tom Barlow and Marc Rzatkowski available off the bench.
Both Aaron Long and Ryan Meara did not travel with the team as they work back from minor knocks.
New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 1 p.m. EST with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon. Ernesto Motta will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 1:30 p.m. EST.
