HARRISON, N.J. (September 20, 2022) - New York Red Bulls defender John Tolkin has been named to No. 6 on the 22 Under 22 list presented by BODYARMOR, the league announced today.
Tolkin, 20, has featured for the Red Bulls since making his MLS debut in 2021, notching 51 starts and 56 appearances in MLS. He has scored two goals and five assists in his two seasons. He scored his first goal this season against Atlanta United FC on August 17.
The Chatham, New Jersey native signed as a Homegrown Player on January 14, 2020. This is the first time that Tolkin has been named to the 22 Under 22 List. Over 34 appearances this season, he has scored two goals and added three assists in all competitions this year.
Tolkin was a member of Red Bulls Academy for five seasons, where he made 79 appearances and scored 15 goals. He has received call ups to the United States Youth National teams, including being selected to the United States U-17 National Team eight times.
