Here are the Keys to the Game, presented by Toyota:
Toronto Twos
New York and Toronto are meeting up for the 41st time in MLS regular season play, the 21st time the two sides will face off in RBNY’s home.
Toronto has won just twice when playing away to New York, with the last victory coming in the inaugural match of the 2016 season, with 16 losses and two draws. The Red Bulls will look to add to the latter numbers on Saturday night.
Going Streaking
New York is looking to extend their home unbeaten streak to nine matches in 2024 and 12 matches overall, looking back to last season. Since Red Bull Arena opened in 2010, the Red Bulls have the most wins (138) at home and have earned the most points at home (467) in MLS.
New York are on a 11-match home unbeaten streak across all competitions, which is the third-longest streak in franchise history. The 2024 New York Red Bulls are the second team in franchise history to go unbeaten in their first eight home matches to begin a season (2012).
Enter Etienne
Derrick Etienne Jr. returns to Red Bull Arena on Saturday. The former Red Bull has been back before, but sparked Toronto since joining, with two goals and two assists since the end of April.
The Patterson native signed as a Red Bulls Homegrown in 2015 and went on to score six times and add four assists across 79 matches for the first team. New York will look to keep him off the scoresheet at Red Bull Arena.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
