This Saturday the New York Red Bulls host CF Montréal. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m ET.
Here are the Keys to the Game, presented by TriHonda Dealers:
Time to Turn Page
The Red Bulls head back to Red Bull Arena, where they have a record of two wins and two draws in their last four home games.
After their 1-0 defeat to D.C. United, New York will have to turn the page and focus on Saturday.
“It's important for us to be ruthless in both boxes, get a shutout on the road, score on the road, but in the end, you could say it's not a fair result, but it doesn't matter,” said Captain Sean Davis after the loss in D.C. “It's whoever walks away with the points and that's them on the night and it's disappointing because it's a pretty identical game to when we came down here last time.”
The Red Bulls will need to be ruthless on Saturday against a Montréal side that hasn’t won an away game since September 15.
Only Two Goals Conceded in October
New York’s defense has had an impressive month of October, with only two goals conceded in the month.
Goalkeeper Carlos Coronel is currently at 11 shutouts, two of which have come in the Red Bulls’ recent home wins against Inter Miami CF and NYCFC.
In order for the Red Bulls to clinch a playoff spot, their defensive performances will need to continue the same ascending trend.
RBNY Need to Win Remaining Home Matches
The Red Bulls saw their eight-match unbeaten streak snapped in the nation’s capital, and now in order for them to be back in the playoff picture, they’ll need to start another streak. Winning against Montréal and Atlanta next Wednesday will be important to keep the playoff hopes alive.
