This Saturday the New York Red Bulls visit NYCFC at Yankee Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m ET.
Here are the Keys to the Game, presented by TriHonda Dealers:
Klimala with Three Goals and an Assist in Four Matches
The Red Devil, Patrik Klimala, continues with his impressive scoring streak. His penalty conversion in the 102nd minute against NYCFC was his third goal in four matches. He’s scored in three straight games.
So far this season, Klimala has grabbed seven goals and five assists.
“For him this was a completely new world, and right now we can see he is more in our world," Head Coach Gerhard Struber said of Klimala. “He has a better connection with the other attacking players and I think he make big steps. Right now, he is the player what we want on the field and we can see this, and he, hopefully, in the next weeks, [is] very, very successful with goals.”
Important to Grab Third Away Win for Playoff Aspirations
Coming off a 4-0 win over Inter Miami CF and 1-1 draw against NYCFC, the Red Bulls will visit Yankee Stadium.
New York needs to grab their third away win of the season to continue climbing the Eastern Conference Standings.
“I think right now, it's the time to be constantly good in the game. Make many things in the right direction, and also, that we are smart and clever enough in some moments to break the pressing, to read the game better and I think this is for us very, very important that my players understand when it’s the right trigger to press and when it’s the right moment to find a better compact staggering,” said Struber after the 1-1 tie on Wednesday night. “And also in transitions and buildups that we are clean and come in better possessions, that we find our momentum or have more control for our momentum. We work very hard at the moment and many players show me they are ready, and they are ready to bring more and more consistently good performances.”
Castellanos with Five Goals in Five Matches
City’s Argentine striker, Taty Castellanos, has scored five goals in five games, including NYCFCs only goal on Wednesday night.
The Red Bulls will have to be alert every time Castellanos gets a good look in front of goal.
This season, New York has one of the best defenses in the Eastern Conference. Just like NYCFC, they’ve only conceded 29 goals.
