Luis Robles On Path to Return

Luis Robles is getting closer to returning to the New York Red Bulls.

"My guess is that he starts training this week," Head Coach Jesse Marsch said "We are still just taking steps on a daily basis to try to make sure that his knee responds correctly, that he's in good place and that we're not risking further injury."

Robles missed his second match since joining the Red Bulls in 2012 after snapping his 183 straight starts and playing the full 90 in MLS play on May 20, 2018.

"So far, everything has gone better than you ever could have hoped and that's one of the strange things," Marsch said. "We just want to make sure that we are not stressing anything, but all the responses from him physically have been great. I think we'll see him training this week."

In his stead, Ryan Meara has started and allowed just one goal over 180 minutes of play.
