The New York Red Bulls are approaching this weekend’s match as a playoff game, according to goalkeeper Luis Robles.
With three games remaining and a chance to clinch a spot in the playoffs Saturday, Robles and the Red Bulls are ready for battle down the home stretch.
“We’re looking at this as a different part of the season,” Robles said. “The playoffs start tomorrow and we know that if we can handle the business on our end, it puts us in a great position going into the playoffs.”
For New York, three points from their remaining three games is all they need to clinch a spot on the postseason.
Robles admitted September was a “tough month,” but knows that one win at this stage of the season could build the momentum they need heading into the Audi 2017 MLS Cup Playoffs.
“You want to have some momentum,” Robles said. “We’re playing confident ball, the guys feel good and that the confidence continues to rise with each positive result.
“We feel confident that we should be able to get the job done.”
