Luquinhas and Kyle Duncan were both named to MLS' Team of the Matchday following the New York Red Bulls 3-0 victory over Toronto FC.
Luquinhas scored a brace vs. Toronto, with one of the goals being assisted by Duncan. Duncan helped keep a clean sheet on defense, as well.
Following the opening goal from Tom Barlow, New York doubled their lead in the 48th minute after a combination play from Omir Fernandez and Elias Manoel led to midfielder Luquinhas placing a shot to the far post for the goal.
The Red Bulls added to their lead in the 65th minute, when Duncan played in a cross through the eighteen-yard box to find Luquinhas, who tucked the ball away to secure his brace.
The goals from Luquinhas were his second and third of the season across all competitions. Luquinhas has scored three career goals in two career appearances against Toronto FC. The Brazilian midfielder has recorded two goals and three assists in his last four MLS matches.
Luquinhas, Duncan and New York close out the regular season versus Nashville SC on Saturday, October 21 with a kickoff time set for 6 p.m. ET at GEODIS Park.
