New York Red Bulls midfielder Omir Fernandez recorded his fifth goal across all competitions this season after scoring the game-winning goal against NYCFC on Thursday. Fernandez has scored three game-winning goals this season, which leads the club and has converted both penalty kicks he has attempted. Fernandez has recorded one goal and one assist in his career against Philadelphia.
Following Monday’s match, the winner of the matchup will move on to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Leagues Cup and go on to face Queretaro.
