HARRISON, N.J. (September 3, 2021) – New York Red Bulls II (3-13-4, 13 points) hosts Hartford Athletic (8-8-3, 27 points) on Saturday, September 4 at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff between New York and Hartford is set for 7:00 p.m. ET. Coverage is available on ESPN+.
The match will be the club’s second Futures Night, which celebrates the club’s Pre-Academy players. Their names will be featured on exclusive match jerseys that will be auctioned off following the match.
Saturday’s match marks a season-high third of the week for New York as it returns home after a two-match road trip. New York fell 1-0 in a hard-fought match to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Wednesday, September 1, at Highmark Stadium. Midfielder Curtis Ofori made his return from injury, coming on as a second half substitute in his first match since May 28.
New York and Hartford will meet for the fourth and final time this season on Saturday, with Hartford leading the season series 2-0-1. Their most recent meeting was a 2-2 draw on Saturday, July 10, with New York getting goals from forward Omar Sowe and defender Matthew Acosta.
New York currently sits in seventh place of the Atlantic Division, while Hartford ranks sixth. They are coming off a 3-2 loss against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Saturday, August 28.
Following Saturday’s match, New York will travel to face the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday, September 11. Kickoff from Al Lang Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
