HARRISON, N.J. (Nov. 2, 2018) –The New York Red Bulls (22-7-5, 71 pts) begin a two-legged Eastern Conference Semifinal series with Columbus Crew SC (14-11-9, 51 pts) on Sunday at Mapfre Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. ET with coverage on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish on TuneIn.


New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 2 p.m. ET with Honda Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Ernesto Motta will carry the Spanish play-by-play, beginning at 2:45 p.m.




New York and Columbus clash for the third time in a two-legged series and fourth time overall in the playoffs. Columbus has edged New York in the last two two-legged series by an aggregate of 6-4 (1998) and 2-1 (2015). The Red Bulls and Columbus last faced off on July 28 at Red Bull Arena when Columbus edged New York, 3-2.


The Red Bulls finished the MLS regular-season slate with a five-game winning streak, which included four shutouts. During that stretch, New York went 2-0 on the road as they traveled across the country to defeat San Jose, 3-1, before returning to blank sixth-seeded Philadelphia, 1-0 at Talen Energy Stadium. The Red Bulls tallied a club-best regular-season road schedule, tying the franchise’s most wins away from Red Bull Arena (8) and recording a club-best mark of 8-5-4 overall.


The Red Bulls have had their fair share of close games in 2018, playing in 17 one-goal matches. Of those 17 games, New York owns a 12-6 mark.
