HARRISON, N.J. (August 26, 2021) āThe New York Red Bulls (6-9-4, 22 points) welcome Chicago Fire FC (5-11-5, 20 points) to Red Bull Arena for the second time this season. New York will host their seventh annual Autism Awareness Night, pres. by Hackensack Meridian Health on Saturday. In partnership with Hackensack Meridian Health, Autism Awareness t-shirts were worn by Red Bulls players at a training prior to Saturdayās match and will be auctioned off through August 30 at 2 p.m. ET. 92% of proceeds will be donated to Autism Speaks. For every ticket purchased here, the club will donate $3.00 to Autism Speaks. In addition, for every ticket purchased here, the club will donate $3.00 to support Autism CAN (Care, Access, Navigate) at Hackensack Meridian Health.
Coverage on MSG begins at 5:30 p.m. ET with the Red Bulls Pregame show. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.
New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 5 p.m. EST with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Stefano Fusaro will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 5:30 p.m. EST.
This will be the third meeting between New York and Chicago this season with the series split with each winning their respective home matches. The last time the two clubs played at Red Bull Arena, the Red Bulls defeated Chicago, 2-0, on May 1. Chicago is currently on a two-match losing streak after falling to both Inter Miami (3-2) and Orlando City (1-0) last week.
On August 18, the Red Bulls defeated the Columbus Crew, 1-0, earning their first win since July 3 and their first win at Red Bull Arena since June 18. FƔbio recorded his team-leading seventh assist of the season on the game-winning goal. The Brazilian forward has recorded two goals and five assists at Red Bull Arena this year, including two multi-assist matches against Chicago Fire FC and Toronto FC. He currently ranks tied for fourth in MLS in assists. Defender Andrew Gutman recorded his first assist for New York last week and became the 11th player to tally an assist this season.
Following Saturdayās match, the FIFA International break will run through Wednesday, September 8. New York will host rivals D.C. United for the second round of the Atlantic Cup on Saturday, September 11.
