HARRISON, N.J. (June 9, 2022) –The New York Red Bulls (6-3-5, 23 pts.) face off against Charlotte FC (5-8-1, 16 pts.) in their first-ever MLS regular season matchup on Saturday, June 11 at Bank of America Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET with coverage on ABC and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 2 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Stefano Fusaro will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET.

This will be the first MLS regular season matchup between New York and Charlotte. The Red Bulls defeated Charlotte FC, 3-1, in the Round of 16 of the 2022 U.S. Open Cup on May 25 at MSU Soccer Park. Defender Dylan Nealis scored his first professional goal in the game, which ended up being the game-winning goal. Charlotte are currently eighth place in the Eastern Conference and are coming off a 2-1 loss against Seattle Sounders FC.

The Red Bulls have scored 24 goals this season in MLS, which is tied for the sixth highest. On the road, New York has scored 14 goals, which is tied for the most in the league with CF Montreal. Through the first 14 MLS regular season matches, New York have scored three or more goals in a match five times this season, and last season, the club had only done it once all season.

Red Bulls midfielder Luquinhas scored his first multi-goal match for New York against D.C. United on May 28. The Brazilian midfielder has tallied a goal or an assist in eight of his 10 starts across all competitions this season. Luquinhas has scored four goals in MLS, which ranks tied for tenth among active midfielders.

Following Saturday’s match, New York will return to Red Bull Arena for a two-match homestand, beginning with an MLS regular season match against Toronto FC on Saturday, June 18.
