This will be the 80th overall regular season meeting between New York and Columbus, with the series being tied with a 33-33-19 mark. The Red Bulls and Columbus are two of the five teams that are currently tied for first in the Eastern Conference with seven points. The seven points through three matches for the Red Bulls are tied for the most points earned in the club’s first three matches in franchise history (2004, 2007, 2015, and 2020). New York are 2-2-1 in their last five matches against the Crew. The Red Bulls are currently on a six-match regular season road unbeaten streak, which is the fourth-longest in franchise history.
Midfielder Lewis Morgan recorded his second goal of the season in New York’s 2-1 win over FC Dallas on March 9. Morgan has scored 20 goals for New York across all competitions since 2022. The Scottish winger has recorded two game-winning goals this year, which is tied for first in MLS this season with Toronto FC’s Lorenzo Insigine. Morgan will be making his fifth career appearance against Columbus on Saturday.
