MATCH PREVIEW, pres. by Toyota: New York Head to Soldier Field to Face Off Against Chicago Fire FC

The New York Red Bulls (10-5-13, 43 pts.) head to Soldier Field on Saturday, September 14 to face off against Chicago Fire FC (6-14-8, 26 pts.). Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English, Spanish, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.

This will be the 69th overall regular season meeting between New York and Chicago with the Fire holding the advantage in the series with a 31-21-16 mark. The Red Bulls have earned a result in back-to-back visits at Soldier Field. New York are coming off a 1-1 draw against Sporting Kansas City, which saw forward Julian Hall score the game-tying goal and he became the first player aged 16 or younger in MLS history to record a game-tying goal in the 80th minute or later in multiple matches. Chicago are winless in their last three home matches.

New York forward Cory Burke made his first start of the season in New York’s last match against Sporting Kansas City on September 7. It was his first start for the Red Bull since July 15, 2023, against Real Salt Lake. Burke has made 10 career appearances against Chicago, where he has scored eight goals, including a goal the last time the two clubs played at Soldier Field.
