The New York Red Bulls (10-5-12, 42 pts.) host Sporting Kansas City (7-14-6, 27 pts.) at Red Bull Arena for the first time since 2021 on Saturday, September 7. This will be the 59th overall regular season meeting between New York and Kansas City with the series tied with a 22-22-14 mark. The Red Bulls have posted a 2-1-2 mark in their last five MLS matches at Red Bull Arena. New York is coming off their first loss at Red Bull Arena this season after suffering a 2-0 loss to the Philadelphia Union. Sporting Kansas City are winless in their last three MLS road matches and have posted a 2-9-2 mark on the road this year.

New York defender Sean Nealis is set to make his 150th career appearance for the club across all competitions. Nealis will become the 13th player in franchise history to accomplish the feat and will also become the fifth defender to make 150+ appearances for the club. The Massapequa, N.Y. will become the third New York native to make 150 appearances for the club as well alongside John Wolyneic and Carlos Mendes.
