The New York Red Bulls (9-4-10, 37 pts.) battle CF Montreal (6-9-8, 26 pts.) on Wednesday, July 17 at Red Bull Arena for Star Wars Night. This will be the 27th overall regular season meeting between New York and Montreal, with the Red Bulls holding the advantage in the overall regular season series with a 13-10-3 mark. New York have posted an 11-2-0 record against Montreal at home and are currently on a 13-match home unbeaten streak across all competitions, which ranks tied for the second longest in franchise history. The Red Bulls have gone unbeaten in their first 10 home matches to open up the season and it is only the fifth time in franchise history that a team has gone unbeaten in 10-plus home regular season matches in a single season. The Red Bulls defeated CF Montreal at Red Bull Arena last season, 2-1, with goals from Cory Burke and Andres Reyes.

Midfielder Lewis Morgan scored his 10th goal of the season in New York’s 1-1 draw against Colorado Rapids on July 13. Morgan recorded his second career double-digit goal scoring season with New York, which ranks tied for second in franchise history only Daniel Royer had more with three. The Scottish international ranks tied for fifth in MLS goals scored by a midfielder this season. Morgan now ranks ninth in franchise history for most MLS goals scored by a Red Bulls player with 24.
