HARRISON, N.J. (May 17, 2018) – The New York Red Bulls (7-3-0, 21 pts) return home with a four-match winning streak for Military Appreciation Night, presented by Bayer, against the Philadelphia Union (4-5-2, 14pts) on Saturday, May 26. The Red Bulls and the Union kickoff at 7 p.m. ET on MSG, MSG Go and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish on TuneIn.
$3 from each ticket purchased through this page will help support K9s for Warriors, the largest provider of service dogs for post-9/11 vets with PTSD or a traumatic brain injury. In addition, the first 15,000 fans to enter Red Bull Arena will receive a red, white, and blue Bayer Beer Koozy.
The Red Bulls will unveil permanent in-arena branding that honors Robles’ streak, which began in September 2012 and ran through the Red Bulls’ 2-1 win in Colorado on May 12, 2018.
The pre-game ceremony will take place during warm ups. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to join in the recognition, which will begin shortly after 6:30 p.m. A special commemorative poster will be available upon exiting the match, with 183 posters autographed by Robles spread out amongst the gates.
Coverage of Saturday’s match on MSG begins at 6:30 p.m. with Honda Red Bulls Game Night. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.
New York Red Bulls Radio goes live at 6 p.m. ET with triHonda Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Ernesto Motta will carry the Spanish play-by-play, beginning at 7 p.m.
New York enters Saturday’s match as winners of their last four matches, including three-straight on the road. During their stretch, the Red Bulls have outscored the Eastern Conference’s current top-two squads, 7-1 (NYCFC, 4-0 & ATL, 3-1). New York has tallied multi-goal performances in all four wins.
Despite captain Luis Robles’ MLS Ironman streak ending due to injury, Ryan Meara stepped up big on the road against Atlanta. Meara, who had not started a league match since March 24, 2015, tallied a game-best six saves on seven chances against the league’s second-best offense. Meara’s Atlanta stat line mirrored his last league start stat line as he tallied six saves on seven chances for NYCFC at Chicago.
New York heads back on the road for two-straight matches, beginning with New England on Saturday, June 2. The Red Bulls and the Revolution kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET on MSG, MSG Go and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish on TuneIn.
