HARRISON, N.J. (June 20, 2018) – The New York Red Bulls will host a Summer Celebration, presented by Horizon, on Saturday, June 23 at Red Bull Arena. New York (8-4-2, 26 pts) will host high-flying FC Dallas (8-1-5, 29 pts), at 6 p.m. ET, with coverage on UniMas and Red Bulls Radio.
Summer Celebration will feature both pre- and post-game activities. Fans are invited to check out the BULLevard, opening at 3 p.m. and the Biergarten pregame. The first 15,000 fans to enter the arena will be given special RBNY Summer Celebration sunglasses courtesy of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey. The Biergarten will feature the band 'Chris Batten & The Woods' and will go live from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. ET with $5 beer specials.
Alongside the pre-match giveaway, the New York Red Bulls Special Olympics Unified Team and the FC Dallas Unified Team match, presented by Prudential, begins at 3 p.m. All fans are encouraged to attend and enter through B1. The New York Red Bulls recently signed Unified athletes and had them train alongside the First Team to prepare for their first of two matches at Red Bull Arena.
New York Red Bulls Radio goes live at 5 p.m. ET with triHonda Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Ernesto Motta will have the Spanish play-by-play duties, beginning at 6 p.m.
New York will host its fourth Western Conference opponent at Red Bull Arena and face its seventh overall in 2018. The Red Bulls have fared well against the West, owning a 5-1-0 mark and outscoring Western Conference opponents, 14-5. New York has allowed just one goal against a team from the West at Red Bull Arena this season.
Saturday’s match features two of the five MLS teams that battled in the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League tournament and the only two above the playoff line through 14 league games. FC Dallas currently sits second in the Western Conference with an impressive 8-1-5 mark and a plus-10 goal differential (GF: 24; GA: 14), while New York ranks fourth in the Eastern Conference at 8-4-2 and tied for the league’s best goal differential at 14 (GF: 30; GA: 16).
Individually, New York and FC Dallas boasts the top-two passers in the league. The Red Bulls’ Kaku leads MLS in assists with nine and Dallas’ Mauro Diaz ranks second with eight. Three of Kaku’s nine assists are game-winning assists, which is tops in the league. Diaz has tallied two game-winning assists, which are tied for fifth.
New York has had a strong showing against FC Dallas at Red Bull Arena, owning a 3-0-1 record and outscoring their opponent, 9-3. The Red Bulls have tallied clean sheets in the previous two meetings. Goalkeeper Luis Robles owns a 0.40 goals-against average versus Dallas, tallying four shutouts in five appearances.
Following the match, Red Bull Arena will transition to a live Firework and Light Show, accompanied by KTU Resident DJ, Raphael Valentino and KTU Radio Hosts Lulu & Lala.
New York will go on the road for the next two matches against Eastern Conference foes. The Red Bulls will travel to face Toronto on July 1 then head to Yankee Stadium to play NYCFC on July 8. Both matches will be featured on the FOX network.
