HARRISON, N.J. (May 12, 2022) –The New York Red Bulls (5-2-3, 18 pts.) will head to Subaru Park on Saturday, May 14 to face off against the Philadelphia Union (5-1-4, 19 points). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET with coverage on MSG, MSG GO, and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish via TuneIn, the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
Coverage on MSG begins at 7 p.m. ET with the Red Bulls Pregame show. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.
New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 6:30 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon and Steve Jolley. Stefano Fusaro will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
This will be the 32nd overall regular season meeting between New York and Philadelphia, with the Red Bulls holding the advantage in the series with a 14-10-7 mark. The Red Bulls currently rank second in the Eastern Conference, while Philadelphia sits one spot above in first place with 19 points. The Union have not won a match since April 9 and are unbeaten at Subaru Park this season with a 3-0-2 mark.
The Red Bulls will be seeking to become the first team in MLS history to win its first six road matches in regulation to begin a season, after tying the record set by the 1998 Los Angeles Galaxy. New York has posted an 9-1-1 record in their last 11 MLS road matches while outscoring their opponents, 22-6. The Red Bulls have only allowed three goals in five road matches this season, which is tied for the lowest in MLS.
Midfielder Luquinhas scored the game-winning goal in New York’s 3-0 fourth round Open Cup victory over D.C. United. He registered an assist in the match on defender’s John Tolkin goal, and the Brazilian has tallied two goals and four assists across all competitions, which leads the club.
Following Saturday’s match, New York will return to Red Bull Arena to face off against Chicago Fire FC on Wednesday, May 18.
