HARRISON, N.J. (July 12, 2017) - For the second time in a span of eight days, the New York Red Bulls head back to Massachusetts to play the New England Revolution on Thursday at Harvard's Jordan Field. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on NewYorkRedBulls.com and New York Red Bulls Radio on Tunein.

The Red Bulls will be facing their third Eastern Conference foe after previously playing them just 10 days or less. New York first faced NYCFC in the Open Cup on June 14 then on June 24 in MLS. Between the two NYCFC matches, the Red Bulls played Philadelphia on June 18 and followed up on June 28. New York recently went up against New England on July 5, earning a 3-2 win, and will now face the Revs again.


New York will compete in the Open Cup Quarterfinals for the ninth time in franchise history. The Red Bulls own an all-time record of 3-3-2 in quarterfinals. The last time New York advanced to the semifinal round was 2003 when they defeated New England, 2-1.


Ryan Meara has started both Open Cup matches in net and has made the most of his time. Meara has played strong between the pipes, tallying 10 saves and allowing just one goal. The Crestwood, New York, native also made a crucial penalty-kick save against Philadelphia that helped the Red Bulls advance to the quarterfinals.
