HARRISON, N.J. (May 1, 2017) – The New York Red Bulls (5-3-1,16 pts) take to the road for two straight matches, beginning with Sporting Kansas City (4-1-3, 16 pts) on Wednesday at Children’s Mercy Park. Kickoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on MSG, MSG GO and New York Red Bulls Radio on Tunein.
Coverage of Wednesday’s match on MSG begins at 8 p.m. with Red Bulls Game Night. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Tina Cervasio.
New York Red Bulls Radio gets underway with Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Matt Harmon, at 8 p.m. ET. Harmon will call the game in English, while Ernesto Motta provides Spanish radio play-by-play and the SAP call for MSG.
New York took care of business over its three-match homestand, taking all nine points to move into second place in the Eastern Conference. The Red Bulls did not trail at all in the 270 minutes at home, and allowed just one goal. The Red Bulls have stretched their unbeaten streak at Red Bull Arena to 19 consecutive matches (16-0-3). During the stretch, the Red Bulls have tallied 12 clean sheets.
Each time Kemar Lawrence has recorded an offensive stat (goals/assists), he has made sure that it will affect the outcome of a game. On Saturday, Lawrence tallied his first career game-winning goal in the 71st minute to extend New York’s winning streak to three with a 2-1 victory over Chicago. Both of Lawrence’s points this season have been game-winning plays with his first being the game-winning assist against Columbus last week. Of Lawrence’s seven career points, six have been game-winning plays. He has tallied five game-winning assists and one game-winning goal.
Through the first nine matches, New York has tallied four different goal scorers. Kemar Lawrence, Alex Muyl, Daniel Royer and Bradley Wright-Phillips have each found the back of the net for the Red Bulls to begin 2017. Wright-Phillips has tallied a goal in four of the last seven matches.
