HARRISON, N.J. (June 24, 2015) -- The New York Red Bulls are back in action Wednesday night hosting another Western Conference opponent, Real Salt Lake, at 7:30 p.m. at Red Bull Arena. Coverage on MSG will kick off at 7 p.m. with Red Bulls Game Night.
New York dropped its last contest, 2-1, to Vancouver on Saturday night. New York played most of the contest with 10 men, and could not come back after falling behind 2-0. 18-year-old Cameroonian forward Anatole Abang scored for the second time in the last two games after netting his first professional goal at Houston.
Bradley Wright-Phillips continues to lead the team in goals (5) and assists (4). In all, seven players have scored at least one goal for New York. In all of 2014, only nine different players found the back of the net.
New York is 4-5-8 all-time against Salt Lake, including a 4-1-3 record at home.
Salt Lake snapped a three-game losing streak on Sunday with a 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City. Javier Morales set up both goals, a 15th minute goal from Sebastian Jaime, and a stoppage-time winner from Olmes Garcia. Morales and Alvaro Saborio are tied for the team lead with three goals apiece, while Morales leads RSL with five assists.
After Wednesday, New York is headed for back-to-back derby games. The team plays away at New York City FC on Sunday (5 p.m., ESPN) before hosting the New York Cosmos in a Round of 16 match for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, July 1 at 7:30 p.m.
