(August 18, 2020) – The continuation of league play opens up with the sixth edition of the New York Derby between the New York Red Bulls (2-2-1, 7 pts) and New York City FC (1-4-0, 3 pts) on Thursday at Red Bull Arena. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with coverage on MSG, MSG Go and New York Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.


Coverage on MSG begins at 6:30 p.m. ET with the Red Bulls Pregame show. Steve Cangialosi will have the primary play-by-play responsibilities and will be alongside Shep Messing and Michelle Gingras.


New York Red Bulls Radio begins at 6 p.m. EST with Countdown to Kickoff, presented by Honda, hosted by Matt Harmon. Ernesto Motta will carry the Spanish play-by-play responsibilities, beginning at 6:30 p.m. EST.




The Red Bulls and New York City FC will meet for the sixth edition of the New York Derby on Thursday. RBNY has taken the season series three of the previous five, having only lost one series in 2017. With the departure of Bradley Wright-Phillips, who owns the record for most goals against NYCFC at 12, Austrian midfielder Daniel Royer currently has the most goals across all competitions for the Red Bulls against NYCFC at five (3 MLS/2 Open Cup).


The Red Bulls return to Red Bull Arena for just the second time in 2020 and first time since the season opener against FC Cincinnati on March 1.
