Sixteen-year-old Julian Hall scored late to capture a draw with Sporting Kansas City on Saturday at Red Bull Arena.

Hall collected the ball in the box as it bounced around off defenders and slid his shot into the bottom left corner of the net, freezing the Sporting goalkeeper for a goal in the 89th minute.

Hall scored his second goal of the season and his first since June 19 against CF Montreal, when he became the franchise’s youngest goal scorer at 16 years, 87 days old.

"It was very good, very important for us, in these moments, that we scored," Head Coach Sandro Schwarz said. "In a very good, very important moment for us, for the whole club, that he comes in and he's directly in the game, and also, obviously, to score."

With his game-tying goal in the 89th minute, Hall became the first player aged 16 or younger in MLS history to record a game-tying goal in the 80th minute or later in multiple matches, according to MLS Communications.

"It was a big moment for the team," Hall said. "You know, obviously, we're down one and you know, my job when I came in, is just to try and make an impact, to try and help the team as much as possible. And thankfully, I did that today, and hopefully we can move from this weekend push forward."

SKC went up first, getting a flick over the defense to Alan Pulido for the finish.

Peter Stroud made his first start and appearance since April 13 against Chicago Fire SC after suffering an ankle injury.

"It’s a tough couple of months, obviously, not being able to play, having to watch from a distance," Stroud siad. "But took big steps forward today, being able to play, you know, a game. Felt great physically, so it's a big step forward, and just hoping to build on this. Obviously, there's a lot of games left before the playoffs, and just trying to help the team out in any way possible."

Sean Nealis made his 150th career appearance across all competitions for the club.

John Tolkin made his 116th start for the club across all competitions, which gives him sole possession of ninth place in franchise history for most starts made by a defender across all competitions passing Connor Lade.

New York heads on the road to Soldier Field to battle Chicago Fire FC on Saturday, September 14.

Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV in English and Spanish and New York Red Bulls Radio in English via the New York Red Bulls app and NewYorkRedBulls.com.
