This week’s Homegrown Hero is William L. Crockett, Director of Youth Programs with the 87th Force Support Squadron at JB McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
This past week we caught up with him to know more about his story, and what he has experienced since the pandemic started. We thank William for all his efforts and for inspiring our club with his acts.
Tell me about your career and what inspires you every day?
One of the greatest things of my career has been serving our great nation, and having an active role in providing quality life experiences for our Youth of the JB McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst community, in helping develop the leaders of tomorrow’s future.
How much have your job duties changed since the pandemic started?
It’s been one of the biggest challenges of my lifetime, ensuring our youth and their families’ safety during these challenging times.
What’s the biggest lesson/s you’ve learned during this time period?
Life is precious, and tomorrow is not guaranteed to none of us. Live life to the fullest.
Favorite RBNY memory and why?
The moment I’ll cherish for the rest of my life was being honored at halftime during one of RBNYs matches last season. I’ve enjoyed the collaboration we have established between the JB MDL community and RBNY. Thank you RBNY for your continued support.
