Coming into the 2018 season, one of the goals for defender Michael Amir Murillo was to be selected to the MLS All-Star Game in Atlanta. That goal came to fruition, when the team was announced back on June 29, which for Murillo was very rewarding.
"For me, it means a lot, because it’s an objective that I had going into the season," Murillo said. "I thank God that I’ve been given this opportunity, and being here is something really good for me because it speaks to the work I’ve put in to be able to accomplish my goal."
Murillo took part in his first All-Star practice on Monday afternoon, which he said was a great feeling.
"Real good, really good, for all my teammates that are on this team," Murillo said. "I believe we are the best players in the league and that serves as motivation when training with them, getting to know them personally and to take part in this with them is truly amazing."
When speaking about what he's most looking forward to from this first-time experience, Murillo feels it'll be incredible.
"Truthfully, a lot," Murillo said. "Because it’s a much different event that I’ve never been a part of. I expect it to be incredible and I hope we all have fun."
