HARRISON, N.J. (February 5, 2018) – Following the official announcement of the venue change for the first leg of the Red Bulls Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16 series from Honduras to San Jose, Costa Rica, the Red Bulls have announced additional preseason plans.
New York will depart on Tuesday, February 6 for Tucson, Arizona. The team will train and play matches in Tucson until February 17, when the Champions League travel roster and staff will depart for Houston. The team will train in Houston before traveling to San Jose, Costa Rica for final game preparations.
Last week, CONCACAF announced that the Red Bulls’ match against CD Olimpia had been moved to Costa Rica’s Estadio Nacional due to unrest in Honduras. The match is set for a 10 p.m. ET kickoff on Thursday, February 22. The return leg at Red Bull Arena will kick off at 8 p.m. the following Thursday, March 1.
