Harrison, N.J. (Wednesday, August 31, 2016) – Hundreds of players representing NJ Youth Soccer arrived at Red Bull Arena early on Sunday, Aug. 28, excited for a unique opportunity. Young players were invited to a special pre-game opportunity to take photos and get autographs with Red Bulls players Ryan Meara and Derrick Etienne Jr.
This was the third annual NJ Youth Soccer Night at Red Bull Arena and the home team remains undefeated on these title nights. The New York Red Bulls defeated the New England Revolution 1-0 as Bradley Wright-Phillips scored in his third-straight match to give the home side all three points.
“It was fun to see the Red Bulls players that I usually see on TV in real life,” said Zack Dabby, a 7-year-old on the Freehold Gold Warriors soccer team. After watching the game, Zack added, “I am happy that the Red Bulls won. They used great passing to get that goal.”
The crowd got a chance to see Sean Davis, an alumnus of New Jersey’s Olympic Development Program that also includes team legends Tim Howard, Tony Meola and Tab Ramos.
“It’s always exciting to see our youth partners organize group outings to Red Bull Arena,” said David Jervis, Senior Director of Training Programs. “Watching live soccer games and experiencing the fun and excitement of a professional soccer game provides a great soccer experience for children and their families.”
