The New York Red Bulls are the 2018 Supporters' Shield winners.

Completing the season with 71 points and a 22-7-5 record, the Red Bulls are the top team across Major League Soccer during regular season play for the 2018 season.

With the Supporters' Shield hanging in the balance coming down to Decision Day, pres. by AT&T, the Red Bulls took care of business with a 1-0 win. North of the border, they needed help from Toronto FC, who beat Atlanta United FC, 4-1.

This marks the third Supporters' Shield the Red Bulls have won, claiming the Shield in 2013 and 2015, as well.

The Shield is a trophy created by fans of MLS from the beginnings of the league.

"The Supporters’ Shield is a unique and wonderful statement about MLS supporters, their connection to the game in this country, their symbiotic relationship with both their teams and the league, and to the game worldwide," Sam Pierron, one of the driving forces behind the creation of the Shield, said.

The Red Bulls' 2018 season continues in the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs, with Leg 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on November 4. Leg 2 will be played at Red Bull Arena on November 11 at a time to be determined.
