- An early second-half Kaku goal lifted the New York Red Bulls (16-6-4, 52 pts) past D.C. United (7-10-6, 27 pts), 1-0 on Sunday night at Red Bull Arena. New York stretched their unbeaten streak to five matches.
- With the win, the Red Bulls eclipsed 50 team points for the seventh-straight season, tying the LA Galaxy for the longest streak in league history.
- New York took home the Atlantic Cup for the second-straight season and sixth time in the last nine years.
