- Marc Rzatkowski’s first career MLS brace lifted the New York Red Bulls (11-5-2, 35 pts) past Sporting Kansas City (9-5-6, 33 pts), 3-2, on Saturday night at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls are 4-0-1 after a loss in 2018.
- Head coach Chris Armas recorded his first career win as the Red Bulls manager after taking over the position on July 6.
- New York has tallied at least three goals in four of the five matches following a loss.
- Kaku helped generate New York’s early lead as he fed Bradley Wright-Phillips perfectly in the box. Wright-Phillips took two touches and sent a chip over the diving Tim Melia in the fourth minute.
