HARRISON, N.J. (May 9, 2017) – New York Red Bulls II (3-2-2, 11 pts.) hit the road for a short turnaround to face the Charlotte Independence (1-2-2, 5 pts.) Thursday evening (7 p.m.) on the campus of Winthrop University’s Eagle Field.
New York is coming off a 3-1 win at MSU Soccer Park Saturday against Harrisburg City Islanders, earning the full three points after losing an April 5 matchup at Red Bull Arena.
Brandon Allen scored two goals from the penalty spot keeping his penalty kick conversion rate at 100% (3/3) for 2017.
Newly-signed Honduran international Douglas Martinez made his debut Saturday in the 75th minute, scoring his first NYRB II goal just four minutes into the match.
Red Bulls II recorded their third consecutive win at Montclair State keeping them undefeated since the move to their new home venue at the beginning of the 2017 season (3-0-0).
Arun Basuljevic remains the lone New York Red Bulls II field player to play the full 90 minutes (630 total) of every match so far in the USL season.
Charlotte, who currently sit 15th in the USL Eastern Conference, return to the pitch after a two-week break.
Last time out on April 29, Charlotte allowed four goals in a loss to the Rochester Rhinos.
