Red Bulls Know They Can Be Better

The New York Red Bulls have six points in the first three games of the 2017 MLS season, but they think they can still become a better team.

“We know what we need to do better,” Felipe said after training on Thursday. “We need to be sharper. We need to do the little things better to make us win.”

After winning the first two games of the league season, New York dropped their first game to Seattle on Sunday. They’ll look to rebound against Real Salt Lake on Saturday at 4 p.m., with the game being broadcast on UniMas (English via SAP function), the Univision Deportes Facebook page and on New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish.

Goalkeeper Luis Robles said the team can’t expect perfection this early in the season, especially with a new formation, but they know the areas in which they need to improve.

“I would be more concerned if we were a finished product this early in the season, but we’re not. With the new tactics, with the new sophistication, the integration of new players, there’s going to be some wrinkles and a learning curve that’s pretty steep,” Robles said. “Looking at the first three league games, there are a lot of positives to take away from that. It’s going to be about continuing to establish ourselves in the way we want to play and continuing to integrate those players.”

Robles said that their next game is great opportunity for them to pick up three points, especially being at Red Bull Arena in front of their fans.

“These are the types of games that we have to get three points from,” he said.
